Police Region North is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which together are divided into 12 local police areas. Furthermore, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments represented in the region to support police operations.

The Local Police Area Southern Ångermanland is part of the police area Västernorrland. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.

We are now looking for an administrator in administrative law for the Local Police Area Southern Ångermanland, based in Kramfors. The position is a temporary appointment starting by agreement, but no later than 27-10-01.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an administrator in the administrative law operations, you will handle cases regarding the Public Order Act and appointments. Other administrative law cases may also arise. Furthermore, the work involves searching in legislation, learning new laws, and new working methods.

The role involves working with public gatherings such as issuing permits for organizing sports competitions, concerts, demonstrations, and using public spaces or conducting blasting, as well as issuing and revoking security guard appointments. Tasks are performed in close collaboration with the operational police activities. If necessary, you will support other operations with relevant tasks for the workplace.

The tasks mainly consist of reviewing incoming applications and writing decisions that you either present to decision-makers or decide yourself. The handling is primarily done in the police's digital case management system.

Remote work is not possible for this position. Business trips and overnight stays within Police Region North may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Completed upper secondary education or vocational training at the upper secondary level that the employer deems relevant
  • At least 1 year of current experience in administrative tasks that the employer deems relevant
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • Good knowledge of the Office suite
  • Driver's license B

We also consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Current experience of working within a government agency or other public operations that the employer deems relevant
  • At least one year of current experience in independently managing your own cases, preferably where you have also made your own decisions
  • Current experience of external collaboration, e.g., collaboration between authorities and various community actors, preferably in administrative matters/permit matters that the employer deems relevant
  • Current experience of administrative tasks, preferably registration and record-keeping or other tasks that the employer deems relevant.

Personal Attributes

To succeed in the role of administrator, you should enjoy working independently, be able to make your own decisions, and work at a sometimes high pace. In handling various cases, you need to be structured and meticulous in relation to existing routines and administrative requirements. You are interested in learning new legislation and new working methods. The work requires a good ability to prioritize between tasks and, if necessary, be flexible and switch between different tasks and quickly adapt to the needs of the operation. You have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others solve tasks, as well as good collaboration skills.
